PAPER 2: COLD WAR
This topic is divided into 4 units:
The Cold War itself can be a very abstract event. It was simultaneously a geopolitical, ideological, economic, cultural, technological and even sporting rivalry between the two superpowers that threatened all out war on a few occasions but ultimately never became a 'hot' war. Overshadowing this period (which lasted between 1945 and 1989 or 1991, depending on your point of view), was the fact that it took place during the nuclear age and that both the USA and the USSR possessed weapons of mass destruction.
